The Economist magazine is a weekly publication that tackles global issues and current affairs. I've been as fan for more than 15 years now. Currently, the Economist subscription can earn you a few Avios.
The Avios offers
There are 3 different subscription plans:
- Print + Digital
Each plan comes with different pricing and bonus Avios offer.
Print or Digital offer
The Print subscription offer will earn 16,200 Avios for a 2-year term at the cost of $270. Therefore, the subscription cost $135 per year. I have had subscriptions in the past, and I can tell you that the pricing is very competitive. The all digital offer is exactly the same, if you prefer to read the articles on your smart phone or tablet.
The 3-year term earns 25,200 Avios for an annual rate of $121.66. If you're an avid Economist reader, then it's a nice opportunity to earn and pay for a competitive price: it's a win on both fronts.
Print + Digital offer
If you're a fan of getting content both in print and digital than The Economist has an offer for you. I personally don't care for the digital content version. It take a few days to go through the magazine and by the time you do that you receive the other one every Wednesday or Thursday.
The price is higher $335 for 19,200 Avios for the 2-year $445 and 25,200 Avios for the 3-year.
If you are an Economist fan then this is definitely a great offer. In my opinion the 3-year print offer it the sweet spot at 121.66 per year and 22,200 Avios added to my BAEC account.
These miles can get you places. Here is a sample of rewards for less than 20K Avios:
- Lima-Santiago in Business class;
- Madrid-Lyon in Business class;
How about you?
