Montréal-Trudeau hosts Premium Kids
This program allows kids with ASD and their parents to experience the airport process. Check-in, going through security, walking, waiting at the gate, boarding and taking one’s seat on a plane all seem simple for many of us. However, for children with ASD the fear of what’s not familiar and the fear of flying can be challenging.
An army of volunteers was available at every point of the experience path at the terminal. In fact, more than 100 children showed-up with their families. For most it was a great morning at YUL, which was made possible thanks to ADM but also:
- Air Transat;
- Autisme Montréal;
- Giants Steps;
- Special Olympics;
- Transport Canada;
- Marriott Montréal Airport In-Terminal Hotel.
Event highlights in photos
Here are some photos of the event. I was very much humbled to cover it. For me, it was one of the most emotional travel event coverage. You can barely appreciate the constant effort of the parents and the devotion of the volunteers. This shows why Montreal-Trudeau is one of the most family-friendly airport I’ve come across.
